Overview
What is the International Foundation Year?
The NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) is a pre-university foundation programme designed to prepare you for undergraduate degree study. By studying the IFY, you will develop subject knowledge, academic study skills, and English language competency.
The qualification is formally recognised by universities worldwide and UK ENIC as comparable to GCE A Levels, Australian SSCE, American AP, and Hong Kong HKDSE qualifications.
Upon completion, you can progress to one of 6,000+ degree courses at NCUK University Partners in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and more.

Entry Requirements
Who Can Apply?
- Successfully completed local high school education (WAEC, NECO, or IGCSE)
- Minimum 4 credit passes at grades 4 or above, including English and Mathematics
- UK-bound students will need UKVI IELTS for visa purposes
Note: Students who need to retake IGCSE, WAEC, or NECO exams can do so while enrolled with us. University applications are processed while the IFY programme is ongoing.
